Water madness!!!!!

I am sitting here and there is a Brisbane City Council vehicle driving up and down my street announcing that the water to our street will be cut off for approximately 3 hours - argh!!!! It is the first dry day in almost 2 weeks and I have at least 3 loads of washing to do and they turn off the water. This is the 5th time in 2 weeks - the longest it was off for was 13 hours. It is driving me insane - lol!!! I just spoke to one of the workers out there and he said they are going to re-do the pipes on the whole street, so hopefully this will stop soon. It really makes you appreciate what we all take for granted!!

What a pain Suzy. I've been washing whilst it's raining and hanging it under cover.
But I suppose once they fix the pipes (and I believe the BCC have a LOT of pipe repair work to do), it shouldn't happen again.

I spoke to the BCC guys again this afternoon (they stopped by to give me 4 litres of bottled water) and he told me they have scheduled the new pipes for the second half of 2009!!!!! :gaah: Luckily we are renting and dont plan on being around that long! I cant wait to own my own home!!!

I think it's good that they gave you some bottled water. That might be something our local council might want to consider when they turn our water off without warning!
(But I'd better not complain too much since my other half is one of the water treatment plant operators in this area).

:giggle: Joy!!! At least it was a nice and windy day today so I was able to get it all done - yay!!!! Means I have the weekend to myself. Well, myself and my taxes :frown: !!!!
