OK - Hopefully everyone has read last weeks tip about using your Hue/Saturation slider to change the color of certain objects. Sometimes that technique loses some of the detail of the papers, particularly if you have to lighten or darken the color much.
So, this is a good little trick I learned from Brianna (who has a great website here (http://www.atomiccupcake.com)) To raise lightness without losing detail: make a copy of your layer, and set it's blend mode to screen. Then merge it back down. You can do this as many times as you need (and turn down the opacity of the screen layer if it looks TOO light). (multiply works for darkening without losing detail).
If you do this first to get the element to the right lightness/darkeness then run colorize and pop the saturation slider back up., it will help keep the detail in the paper.
