I hate cars!

I have just got to vent this morning - I hate cars so much! My car died on me last week on the way to work and my mechanic just called to tell me that the timing belt is bad and the repairs for it and the damage it did are going to cost $1100!!!! Just what I need with a baby on the way, right? Ugh. Oh well, at least we have the money to pay it, it just sucks to spend it on that! I just hate dealing with cars, they're nothing but trouble!

Oh you poor thing! I feel your pain! My car died last June the repair bill was similar to yours (LOL). I took the drastic (well darn scary really) decision to just not fix it - as I live near work (20/30 min walk). Of course in the summer this was fine - but it is turning out to be a LONG LONG winter (sigh)...

Luckily I can use DH's car at the weekend (although his car is on the way out LOL)!

Do you have a Honda, Lisa? That timing belt...about the only thing that will ever give you trouble with a Honda...

My DH drove an Integra for about 10 years. Timing belt died, then the rest of the car started falling apart! After over 100,000 miles, it was time to give up. At least you "only" have to pay for repairs and not a shiny new red monster truck...;)

Nope, mine's a Hyundai. I have it back now and things seem to be in order again, so I'm glad for that, but ouch that's a big car bill. But, like you say, at least I didn't have to replace the whole thing!
