Simply you - week 3

Hi everyone!
Gabi's here this week. Are you ready for another Simply you challenge?! This week's theme is really girly :001_smile: We will talk about jewels - if you were a jewel, what will you be?

I didn't have to think about this too long. If I would have a choice to be a jewel I would be definitely a wedding ring. For me is my wedding ring a symbol of my husband's true love and I know I've found a man of my life. He isn't just my husband, but also my best friend and amazing father of our kids! I love him so much :love01:

Awesome layout Gabi, and excellent picture of your ring. when I was making jewellery it can be difficult to capture it on film without the right equipment. You've done a marvellous job and a gorgeous layout....I'm going to try to come up with something for this one!

Oh yeah, I agree! I tried to take a pic of one my jewelry and it's just blehhh. :ack2:

Kim, I put my ring on the chair close to a window and used macro on our camera. That's it. I was so happy that the photo turned out so nicely!!! (and I just did a color balance in PS).
I can't wait to see your layout!

Yes, that macro focus can be a god-send. I rigged up a wee tiny light box and used my small tripod. I made jewellery with Swarovski Crystal and it REALLY caught the light. I should get back into that...lol! So many supplies, so little time!

Then I started getting creative and put some things in the trees and bushes in our garden! lol!

:blushing: Thanks ladies! I still have a bunch of stuff left from when I had my website and did craft shows around here (I made custom jewellery and wedding invitations), plus extra to make more! Maybe I should put it on my blog in case anyone's interested...lol! :001_cool:

There are very few things in life that put a damper on my scrapping mojo, but this week I'm sooo not in the mood. We had a leak in our basement. It was small, but led to the discovery of other leak-wannabe's that required DAYS worth of jack-hammering and LAYERS of dust throughout our house. So we escaped to a hotel with our two toddlers. ACK!!! I'm losing it. So that is "simply me" for this week, LOL! I'll hopefully be back for wk 4.

Here is my layout. I played around with different filters...can't remember exactly what I did...I need to start writing things down so I can remember how to get the effects I like. I think I did okay...I like the way it turned out...not perfect, but looks cool. :clap: Yea me, I'm learning through trial and error!
Anyway, here it is. TFL!
