Hi there guys, I would love to know how to make a sanded overlay, how do you use the brushes to get that effect! The scrapartist has the most amazing sanded overlays! Love your work!

By "sanded" do you mean lightly distressed or that it looks like I took sandpaper to it?
Can you give me a specific paper that you're thinking of so I can picture it? That way I can give you exactly what you are looking for!
Thanks!

Yes, I've wanted to know that, too. I like both the lightly distressed and fully sanded look like in your Sanded Florals kit, Nancie (one of my fav's). Depends on what mood I'm in how far I would take it....the technique of "sanding"...whatever it is!
Hope its not too hard!!

LOL, you are so nice to give away trade secrets. I finally broke down and paid $32 for program to do the grunge for me because I could never figure it out on my own.

Did you buy the Machine Wash Filters?
I just got them in the mail the other day and haven't had time to play!!!
No, I just create a brush, then get an overlay I like and use it that way. I make more work for myself that way! LOL Actually if you have an image you like, it really give you more creative freedom.

I did. I really like them a lot. Although actually I use brushes made from the image files way more than I do the program itself because then I can adjust the opacity. The Machine Wash action basically uses the image files like giant erasers so you can't really get that much control over how much of the bottom layer shows through. Knowing what I do now, I realize that I could have done this myself really by finding a bunch of texture photos and turning them into brushes. But oh well, live and learn. It's still a nice program. Just probably not $30 nice.
