View Full Version : Anyone relieved that the holidays are almost over?
Whew! I can't wait to get back to normal around here! Over-indulgence in almost every aspect...party food, too much wine...rofl! Ugh. I am going to have to hit those weights pretty hard in the next few weeks! I am soooo glad for tomorrow. I hope to get a couple layouts done in between loads of laundry! Is anyone else woefully behind in commenting, blogging, scrapping? :tongue_smilie: I know I am!
I can't wait--my kids however, still have a week off (after this one.) I love them dearly and we do great when we are together doing something or I am paying attention. LOL!! But, if I want to retreat to my computer or anywhere else where I am nt paying as much attention to them all YOU KNOW WHAT can break loose. LOL!! I really have gotten used to having the older two at school during the days, and I enjoy how peaceful it is without all the teasing and tattling that goes on when all of them are home. LOL!!
WE did have a great holiday though, DH got sick on Thursday, which normally I would feel bad, but this meant that he came home from work early, and then didn't go in on Friday. And he NEVER takes a day off. And by Friday afternoon he was feeling better, then he went in for a bit on Monday, but less than normal, so we got him at home WAY more than normal. I felt so spoiled, that on Wednesday, when he went back normal time we all went in to visit because we missed him. HEE HEE!!
We had loads of fun too--watching football with friends, making sugar cookies with friends, and then having Christmas eve dinner and acting out the nativity with friends and our children. So even though we didn;t spend it with extended family we were lucky enough to be surrounded all weekended by dear friends and having LOADs of fun. :)
That sounds great Amber! My kids are home next week as well, and they have their noses buried in their Nintendo DS's. We also got them Guitar Hero 3, now they have all of them in the series. It's been a blast watching them. My 5 y.o son beat the daylights out of my cousin (he's 43) last night at a family party. Tyler was the star of the show....my cousins' kids got Wii. I had so much fun with it, I've asked for it for my b-day. Hopefully they'll get more in stock around here before March! lol!
Someone always gets sick during the holidays...too closed in, too many hugs and kisses to 100's of people...all in fun though. I'm glad your dh is feeling better. I'm just waiting for my kids to start bickering....and tattling....and me saying, "ooooo, I can't WAIT for school to start!" lol!
Take it easy! I can't wait to hear some more holiday experiences!

YES YES and YES I am so glad to have things getting back to normal. I love Christmas but I need things to be scheduled and orderly so I get a little nutty towards the end :ack2:
My kids go back to school next Thursday, but they can drive so it's not a big hassle finding a sitter and stuff..........
We had the best Christmas night I can remember in a long time, came home from our family function and had a big "rock band" concert with our kids, some really good friends, wine and snacks. Totally relaxing and loads of FUN.
That sounds like a blast! I love celebrating with family and friends.

I am so happy too! I am still buried here under all the gifts! Where to go with all the new stuff is the hardest part of Christmas gifts for me! Out with the old, and in with the new, I guess. I just dread going through all the old stuff and deciding what needs to be given away!

On one hand, I'm enjoying the chance to sleep in a little bit coz the kids don't have to be in school.
On the other hand, I'm ready for them to go back to school too! If I hear one more "MOM...she did it first!", I'm going to go crazy!:cursing:

Or my favorite this break--"MMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! whatever she tell you it's a lie." ROFL!!!:rotfl2: duh?!?
I'm with you Kathy...love your new avie btw....digging out of the boxes and tossing/giving away old toys that the kids have outgrown. We finally have part of our family room in the basement back after giving my daughters Fisher Price Kitchen set to my 2 y.o niece. Room to MOVE around...lol! I think the trick to getting rid of the old is waiting til the kids aren't around. The minute I want to give their old stuff away (the things they haven't played with in MONTHS), "Mooommmmm, I want that still!" Good Lord! The tree is coming down this weekend. I used to leave it up through Little Christmas, but I need to clean my house!
