The first thing you will need to do is to take the book apart. Since the holes for the spine were so close together I found it easiest to take wire snips and cut the spine in several places. You are then able to take it apart in smaller pieces.
Covering the book
To cover the front and back you will need 2 6x8 pieces of paper. First I applied a thin layer of Mod Podge to the front of the book with a sponge brush. Lay the paper in place and using a towel, start in the center of the cover and rub towards the edges to release any trapped bubbles. Repeat with the back cover and let dry, at least 10 minutes. After both covers have dried the next thing I did and flip the covers over and using a large needle punched my holes for the spine. If you do this before you fold over the edges of the cover you will still be able to follow the prepunched holes. Next start with the corners, fold over and attach with a glue dot. Once you have gotten all four corners folded then fold over the paper along the sides. Since you are going to be putting a cover on both sides of the book I used a strong tape to hold down the paper. Once you have gotten both covers folded and taped down print out a 4.5x6.5 sheet of pattern paper and attach them to the inside of both the front and back cover.
Decorating the inside of the book
When it comes time to decorate the inside of the book I will do this all in Photoshop. I use a 4.5x6.5 size template and design each page. Before printing I will open a new 8x10 file, separate each layer, move them to the 8x10 file and print. Doing this allows me to less waste and I also know the exact size of each element, I find doing it this way makes putting the book together a lot easier. All you have to do is cut out and put together.
How to get the stamped look on your paper/elements
Using the method I mentioned above will also allow you to get a stamped look on several elements at once while also getting the 3-D look of paper scrapping. Here are the steps I took to get this look using the pages with the photos that have a frame and stamp on them as an example.
When I printed out the background paper I print it with both the frame and stamp in place. I just removed the photo from the layer. Then when I print out the photo I will also do this with the frame and stamp in place. Cut out the photo in the exact size, you should then be able to place it on your layout matching the edges and giving you that stamped look.
Binding the book
To bind the book I used DMC floss and sewed the book together. Starting at the bottom I tied a small knot, attached a bead and then followed the pre placed holes, adding beads for decoration as I went.
