View Full Version : Writing credits
Hi everyone!
In the last couple of days I've noticed that a lot of layouts are posted without credits in the gallery. I would like to ask you all if you could always write the credits down.
At first, you make a credit to designers and that means you appreciate their work  and second your layouts are inspirations for all of us so we know what you've created from and can run to the shoppe and buy the stuff we like :). Sounds fair?
Thank you so much for your cooperation!!!

Good point Gabi!! Thanks for mentioning this.
I know how hard it is to keep track of what's used in a LO (especially when it feels like you have 50 million layers of elements! lol). I usually rename each of my layers with the credit (item by designer at store)... then when I'm done I'll copy and paste each of these in a new text layer so that I can simply copy and paste the whole thing when I'm uploading my LO. Saves time in the long run because you aren't searching for the designer of random elements and you aren't rewriting it each time you upload (and I for one upload LOs to at least 4 galleries!).
Hope that helps!

Thanks for talk about it. I am so worried about it. I do not have the credits of my first pages, but they are not in any gallery. Those days I write all I use. It is good for me and for designer.

Oh, Gabi, you have a point, here! Credits are VERY important!
Here what i do: as i drag the elements i´ll be using on my pages and drop to PS, i copy the file name (example: "LWD_ultimate_stitches_volII", ). Then, i paste on the yellow "post it" that shows when we use the "Note Tool" on Photoshop. Have you seen this option on the left palete?
No I didn't knwo that! Have to try that one out! What I do is open the notepad and write my credits there while working and I paste that into my credits when uploading to galleries. gonna try your idea out though, sounds really easy!
Good point, here Gabi, and another thing to mention may be the hotlinking. I have seen so much of this lately, I gotta wonder...that and the blatant disregard for the 5 layout per 24 hour period limit. Obviously, not commenting on these individuals layouts is not hint enough!

Wonderful tip Mic, thanks so much. I've never used this tool in Photoshop.
Great tip, Mic! :thumbup1: I have to try it. Thank you! I always rename layers by designer's name and the element.

Great tip Mic! Does that note tool get saved too? Coz I've always done the file info thing but I retype the credits there so I just copy and paste when I post at different galleries.

Great tip Mic !
Gabi, I have also noticed that many who don't post credits are often people whose main language is not English and maybe, they are not awere of the rules and they will probably don't check the forum!
Maybe, when we notice that, we could write them a little PM explaining the rules. What do you think ?
Sounds great, Catherine! I've already wrote it into a comment section on the layouts without the credits several times.
BTW - everyone in our team is so exited about your guest spot!!! Can't wait to see you around the CT forum!
