View Full Version : Twofer #2: They call it mellow yellow!

Welcome to the second installment of the Tuesday Twofer Challenge! Thank you to everyone for your "hot" summer layouts last week!

This week's challenge will run from today until Monday, June 18th. Your challenge is to use the color yellow (lots of it) in a heritage layout. Yellow is not a color that comes to mind when doing heritage scrapping. I'm not talking pale yellow ... I want to see the real deal ... yellow in all its bright glory! So bright you need to wear sunglasses! Pictures need to be from the 1970's or before. The rest is up to you.

that song makes me laugh. when my cousin and i were kids we used to drive everyone MAD singing that song all the time. we were banned from singing it indoors and in the car lol!
i'm not keen on yellow at all so this will be a challenge

You could just do a layout about singing the song! What a funny story.

here we go - I'm gonna send him a copy and hes going to go MAD! just as well he lives in New Zealand and I live in England lol!

These pictures hardly seem like heritage to me, just old vacation photos, but the year is 1969! I also realized we didn't get an SLR camera until 1971, so I took these using a light meter and all with the Argus C3 that my brother bought for my mother in 1950. I guess that really makes this a heritage layout.;)

Photo with girls unfortunately is not my -album is from man with nick name NYCtreeman (flickr)
This image is from album of Vaudeville performers in Berlin, Germany from 1935 to 1936.In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Berlin was a magical and fabulous city. Small theatre and cabaret performers like these people were an integral part of the magic that was Berlin. This girs is Erika and Evelyn Jolanda.

Hi Robyn,

According to the guidelines this photo is not old enough but I think bright yellow is perfect for it. Thanks for the idea!

Here's mine - I had a hard time with this - bright yellow was hard for me to do - must have redone it like six times!!! But here it is and my sister will be so pleased with me! :)

WOW! You ladies are blowing me away! I will be sorry to see this week end. The yellow is so cool in the gallery. I was driving home today and heard the song "Yellow" by Coldplay and thought of all of you.
