This Tuesday I'm excited to present a tutorial about... Dashed lines.
I'm not quite sure how I've been a digital scrapbooker for over two years now and have never taken the time to figure out dashed lines! So, I found this good tutorial on them...
Tutorials (http://www.planetphotoshop.com/tutorials_tools.html) (This is a directory of a bunch of tutorials, but scroll down to the 25th one down "Dashed lines in photoshop.)
and my goal tonight (after the kids are in bed) is to sit down and tackle the dashed lines dilema! lol!
So I thought I would share the tutorial for tip Tuesday so we can all learn to dash together! Please post your comments or observations below! :).

I'll also try mastering dashed lines and incorporate it into a layout! Thanks your for that great website that also has some more good stuff I'm going to check out. I've kind of been out of the tutorial mode lately and it will be nice to get back in and learn a few things!

OK - I had a chance to work with the tutorial this morning... and these are my observations!
First, here (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2267&cat=500&ppuser=8) is the page I made with it. I went wtih a circle brush - but still tried to get a "dashed" spacing between them.
The first thing I noticed was that since I had upgraded my PS to CS 2 - the brush palette pictures weren't matching up for me. I found my roundness and spacing contols in the brush palette by clicking on where it says "Brush tip shape" (above all those options with the boxes) That might be helpful if you are working with CS2.
Also - it was interesting to play with the roundness and spacing options on that screen. I liked how the roundness made the dashes shorter or taller... that was good to know! In my sample page I went with a circle, bu playing with the roundness meter made them into ovals.. which might be a fun look for a different layout sometime!
I thought that path that showed how Photoshop will put the dashes on versus how Illustrator can do it was very interesting! I loved the "curved" look of the Illustrator image... makes me want to learn Illustrator... there is always something to learn isn't there!
If you used the tutorial to create dashes - post your page here, so we can all see it! And, if you had any comments or insights on the tutorial, post them here too! :)
I use DIP - I play around with different font styles and font sizes to make my dashed lines and then I play around with filters to change the look too... like the bevel..

Thanks Lori for that DIP insight! It's always good to have tips from different programs! I use Photoshop and Elements but I know there are tons of others who use different programs, so thanks for sharing! :)
