What kind of light bulb do you girl use in your designing/scrapping area? we switched to those swirly light bulbs that are suppose to last a long time and i have been getting horrid headaches since. so i am curious what type of lighting/bulbs you girls use ?

I'm using florescent light. Really ugly but don't add the yellow tone to my layout as my previous lamp.

I use a halogen desk lamp angled away from my monitor & that seems to work just fine for me :)

Interestingly, I read something unsettling last week about those 'swirly light bulbs' you mentioned. Something about how difficult it is to dispose of them properly & the dangers of cleaning up after breakage? I didn't have time to check Snopes, but you might look into it...

I use the "swirly" bulbs, the natural light version. They are difficult to dispose of since most of them contain mercury. There was an article about how Wal*Mart is going to be reducing the amount of mercury in their brand of these lights. I believe theirs had the highest content of any brand.

Anyway, we haven't yet had to deal with disposal since our bulbs are still relatively new at less than a year old. I'll have to research disposal methods when the first one dies.

I use the "swirly" lights (the faux soft white ones) in my overhead lighting, but I also have a halogen floor lamp in our office and I really like the light from it (although it's ugly as sin LOL!) - I often just turn it on while I scrap, it's a little softer and prettier light - at least to me :)

I've been wanting to make the switch to those "swirly" bulbs :) But cannot bring myself to spent the money our of fear they really will not last as long as they say.

So for now i have the normal incandescent light, it drives me nuts, as the whole room has a yellow cast. And still seems a bit dark. Perhaps I will try the "swirly" bulbs.
