Have you taken art classes?

I was wondering this weekend how many of the folks around here have artistic training. There's so many great artists here and I know a lot of you (and me :) ) are self-taught, but I'm guessing there's some who have an art background too. I'm thinking about taking some classes now that DH works at the University and I'd love some ideas on what you liked or didn't like about art classes and what to look for :)

I never did at the University but I would love to try some. Maybe when the girls will be older.

I have never taken any either ... would be fun to take some classes & dabble in some REAL paints :)

I did and loved it! Except for one class cause the teacher was straight out mean...I ended up dropping his class! For me it was sort of on accident because the class I actually took was closed and so I needed to find a replacement and wondered into a paint class and was instantly filled with joy at the sight of all those easels with their giant canvasses and all the painters into their projects! I felt right at home! :love: Now I want to go take a paint class again! I think you should try out a class or two!!

does art in elementary school count?? lol. no art classes for me..it was the computer classes that did it! ;)

I took an oil painting class way back when most of you girls were still in diapers! Seriously doubt if it had any impact...the class was very brief. Would LOVE to take some graphic art courses.

Nope...no classes for me either...but I did work in a career technology school a long time ago which gave me some insight into how to put together a newsletter. I don't think that counts though, does it?:dontknow:

I took some art and design classes 10 yrs. ago when I was going for my interior design degree (never finished) life got in the way LOL! I loved the design classes; it was a lot of work, but I learned a lot. The drawing classes were even more work , especially with perspective. (a fellow classmate who was already a lawyer said it was the hardest class she ever took LOL!) I would really like to have taken some graphic art courses. The people in the painting classes, I hear, enjoyed them.
