I just posted the new Heritage Challenge on the Scrap Artist Team Blog this morning. CLICK HERE (http://scrapartist.typepad.com/the_hub/2007/04/heritage_altere.html) to go directly to the post.

This month, I have a really BIG challenge in store for you! The theme is:

"A 24-INCH CANVAS!"

That's right ... we're ditching the traditional 12-inch canvas. And this is different than a regular 2-page spread. These layouts actually span the entire 24 inches! Don't worry about the page break. Just design over the entire canvas. When printed, of course, they are chopped at 12 inches but when placed in a seamless album, they look INCREDIBLE! Think about this ... the canvas is 24 x 12 inches. At 300 dpi, that's 7,200 x 3,600 pixels. If you calculate it out, you have a canvas area of almost 26 MILLION square pixels at your disposal! That's pretty impressive.

Here are a few of my samples: Sailor's Girl (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=38481), England Brothers (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=22817), World War II (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11771)

If your computer blacks out at the thought of a 24 x 12 inch layout, feel free to adjust that down to 16 x 8 inches. And if you are regularly an 8.5 x 11 scrapper, try out a 17 x 11 inch canvas. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Please be sure to post a link to your layout in this thread so we can all go admire your gorgeous creations!

I knew right away what I wanted to do for this challenge, but it has taken a while to put it all together. Fun doing the big format. Here is my grandparents' 50th Anniversary (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=39731&cat=585).

i've cheated and not used old photos so i hope i can be forgiven. had a lot of fun with brushes. I don't usually do such dark and deep stuff but have started a life journal and wanted to do a page to reflect my migraines.

Okay, I'm being very brave here...this is my first ever digi-lo & it's a two-pager! I've been a lurker on this forum for months - I love the gorgeous lo's you ladies make. Now that I've done my first one, I have even more appreciation for your work. This is hard! (But really fun!) so....here's mine:
