Hi everyone. I think this is the first time I have "spoken" in these forums, though I am an avid reader.
I just downloaded and printed the calendar freebie from this month's MUSE. The calendar is courtesy of Linda Barber and it is sooo cute.... I had to put pics in right away.
OK, so then I had to print it, right?
I printed on cardstock and LOVE the LO but not the pics. I like the look of PAPER for the layout, but I want the pictures to standout more. I printed on Glossy and love the pics but not the LO. I like the pics but the LO itself doesn't look "real". I haven't tried Matte paper yet, but you see my quandry.
The question: When you print your layouts which kind of paper do you use? Does it depend on the layout?
thanks in advance for your opinions!!

I'm a matte girl myself - you get a great photo print without having the rest of the layout glossy, to me it's the perfect mix :) And, Epson even makes a double-sided matte, so if you want to make pages for a mini-album or what not, you can print on both sides!
I have also used a satin finish which I loved as well. :)

Ams, where do you get satin finish paper?
And thanks to the rest of you for your ideas. I have an epson photo printer that I love, even though it is about 4 years old!

Okay so I must be a cheapie cause I just print mine out onto plain high quality photocopier paper. Sure it goes through a colour laser printer but its still copier paper.

I LOVE Lusture or Pearl the best, seems to give your layout a really nice pop!! My favorite papers are from Lumijet (http://www.pictureline.com/products/12054/Lumijet_Art_Two_Sides_13x19_25/), or Moab Paper Co (http://www.moabpaper.com/index.asp).. And have you seen these digital do-it-yourself-printing books from Moab???
A little pricey, but they are pretty dang slick.. The paper is BEAUTIFUL! It's double sided, you print then bind them all together in the album..
Moab Chinle Digital Books (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=pd_rs_2/103-4885394-4538221?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-alias=electronics&field-keywords=moab%20chinle%20book)
OMG!
Thank goodness Mother's day is just right around the corner ;)

I print on Matte (or Lustre) Photo paper too. I love the results. Not too glossy so the fingerprints don't show, and the photos look really beautiful :)

thanks for all of your input, everyone. I will have to check out Moab, too.
I can't remember where I got my Satin finish when I got it. I think it was at Office Depot or something like that, it was also about 2 years ago. :) I live in a tiny town now, with out many sotres, so I just am happy to take whatever Matte finish I can get now a days. :) Good luck and I hope you can find something you love.
