My sister-in-law told me the easiest way to get rid of hiccups and it actually works!!! I wish someone had told me years ago and that is why I'm sharing it with you. When my sil was in high school over 20 years ago, someone had the hiccups and a boy in her class offered the person $5 for their next hiccup. Lo and behold, the next hiccup did not come. It has something to do with the anticipation. My sil does not offer $5, she just holds up the palm of her hand and says "Give me your next hiccup." I told my family about it and we've been trying it out for the last month or so. It has worked every time. My sister tried it and says it even works on yourself, but she says you have to say it out loud. Try it out and let me know if it works.

That is so intruiging!
my ds has been getting the hiccups all of the time since he was in utero- and is now 10.
I bet he'd love this one (with the $5 - altho he'd try to scam me for $10!!)

I've heard that saying something shocking works :lol Say something like
"You stole my watch!" I don't know if it's true.

Our "no fail" cure is to eat a teaspoon full of peanut butter. By the time you've finished that mouthful of PB, your hiccups are all gone!
This works for the toddler too. Just make sure to give him a smaller amount, like toddler spoon size.
