Creating templates?

Is there a tutorial out there that shows you how to make your own templates in photoshop? I've got so many ideas rolling around in my head but I'm not sure how to go about creating my own template.

Hi Heather! There's a template tut over at DigiScrapDesigner.com (for members) it´s made for product previews but it works for other stuff too. pretty easy, most of the work you do is with the shape tool.

BTW I really liked your styles, great job!
