When starting your page

I was just wondering do you plan it all on paper first, like almost a roadmap of how you want it to look? Or do you just start adding things and see where it takes you?

I figure everyone has their own way of doing things, but I was thinking about this last night and would love some insight as to how other people are doing it, being that I'm just starting out.

I found one I was doing last night I wasted a lot of time over which got me thinking about this subject.

I start with the photo(s), pick a background paper that works with it, and go from there. If I am doing a lift, well, it is pretty much created in my head before I start. t is just a matter of pulling it all together.

But for me, it is all about the photo(s) - everything else should enhance it.
