HUB#1: Altered Postcards (Feb 12-Mar 11)

This is a thread to discuss the Altered/Collage Challenge posted by Christine at the HUB (http://scrapartist.typepad.com/the_hub/2007/02/for_the_past_ye.html) (the Scrap Artist team blog) on February 12, 2007. Here is the post:

This month we are going to explore the popular altered theme of correspondence art, and alter some vintage postcards!

I know many of you have enjoyed altering envelopes in the past, as well as creating our own vintage styled postage stamps, but this is something we have never tried, and there is SO MUCH inspiration out there for this theme! Check out Sommerset Studio and some of the other Stampington publications at your local bookstore, and the pages are filled with altered mail!

I cannot wait to start this challenge I have been saving Postcards for what seems like forever and then found some very old ones my Motrher in Law had saved. Postcards sent to let a friend now they were coming for a visit on Saturday etc. Having a month is going to really help the creative juices to start flowing.

I 've just bought a gorgeous book called 'urgent second class' about mail art, ephemera etc so this is the perfect challenge for me at the moment! off to get my thinking cap on:drink:

just as well there was a long time frame for this challenge. its a fabulous idea to collage a postcard. I am really pleased with mine and very inspired with what everyone else came up with too.
