I use PSE 4.0 and am finding myself spending LOTS of times with the frames. If I have an oval frame, how do I crop my picture to fit in it? I ended up going and tediously erasing everything that was not in the oval frame. There has got to be a faster, easier way.
Thanks!

Hi there - don't know if this is the most efficient way to do it either, but sometimes I just take out bigger chunks by selecting with the marquee tool and then CTRL+X to cut. Then I just have to erase smaller parts that I don't get that way. Hope this helps a little??

Try this. . . on the layer that your frame is in hit CTRL Click(with the left mouse button). This should make a selection (marching ants) within the frame that you have on your page. Now. . . take your picture that you want to place within the frame and hit CTRL A(select all) and CTRL C(copy). Then, you are going to paste this copied selection into the selection you have made inside your frame. In your layers palette, add a new layer for the picture to go onto and hit Shift CTRL V (paste into). Your copied photo should now appear only inside the selection. Now you can transform your photo to show exactly what you want within the frame by hitting CTRL T and dragging by the corners while holding down the shift key. Once you like what you see. . . hit Enter! From there you can merge those layer together and deselect your selection.

Hope this works and is understandable!;)

Thank you both for your help!
Tanbanan, I couldn't get the first step to work for me, where it would only select inside the frame. Can you tell me what tool or command it is with out the shortcut? I am wondering if I am using an older version that doesn't yet have that short cut.
But even without that step, you opened my eyes that I could use the round marquee tool also which helped lots, too.

You both definitely helped to simplify the process, thanks again!

Maybe for the first step you should just draw a shape using the marquee tool, just make sure it is in it's own layer so you can paste your photo into it! Sounds like you figured it out though!;)
