It only seems appropriate that the last weekly Heritage Challenge should be posted a day late ... as it usually is! LOL! WHAT did she say ... LAST??!! Yep, that's correct. I said last. But last as in a new beginnings sort of way. I keep telling myself that change is inevitable but that doesn't mean that I don't have a hard time with it! So, like I said, this will be our last WEEKLY Heritage Challenge. We will now be moving on to MONTHLY challenges. There is a cool, new blog in town called The Hub (http://www.scrapartist.typepad.com). It is the Scrap Artist team blog and challenges will now be posted there. The Heritage Challenge will be posted the second Monday of every month on the blog. And I plan to make the challenges more detailed and involved since they will span an entire month.
I hope you will give this new format a chance (actually this is me just talking out loud! LOL!). It's going to be cool to see what you guys can do with a whole month!!!
And now for THIS week's challenge. I have been posting these challenges for over a year and I have so enjoyed watching you all grow as heritage artists. So this week, I am going to put you to the test and see what you have learned. I would like for you to incorporate at least 4 of the previous week's themes into one cohesive layout. The only rule is that the photos should be from the 1970's and before. You have until February 11th to finish this up so show me what you've learned!!
Please post in the Heritage Challenge Gallery and give us a link here. Please write in your descriptions which weeks you have incorporated. Thanks for being such great students!! LOL!

And thanks so much for being such a great inspiration/kick in the butt to get at least me going. It is ALL YOUR FAULT I do so many heritage layouts now, you know! lol
Before finding ScrapArtist and this challenge, I had done very few of them!

sob sob this is my last weekly scrap. thanks robyn for all your help and inspiration.
I have based this LO on Vivid, 70s, and hearts, and the fourth one is just learning how to colourise a black and white photo, which i learnt from Robyn.
looking forward to the monthly challenges.

well...I'm happy to do the challenges once a month...there have been quiet a few weekly challenges that I have missed out on and probaly should use as my Final Exam, I'd love to do the Vintage House challenge and the 'scan in and use the writing that is on the back of the photo' challenge...but as I don't have access to all my Mum's photos, I can't get those till I bend her arm and convince her to bring ALL her photos for me to scan next time she visits...but I will think of something and get to work on it tomorrow. Robyn, it has been a pleasure doing your inspirational challenges, looking at your LO's and looking at everyone's take on your challenge...like Cindyi I hadn't even thought of doing heritage LO's till I saw the wonderful work going on here and I have to say, this style of LO is now my favourite! Scrapartist is my favourite place to hang out and breath in all the wonderful inspiration that comes off the gallery pages..so I will be checking out the blog and still joining in.

Here is my submission: http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=33011&cat=585
Concepts included are Heritage Houses, Quirky Cropping, Stripes & Circles and Flowers & Butterflies. I'd appreciate any constructive criticism.
As a genealogist with boxes of photos, I've been finding digital scrapping very rewarding and Robyn's heritage challenges (which I've followed for a while on the sidelines) have helped focus my efforts considerably. Many thanks Robyn! and all of you who have regularly created wonderful heritage LOs! I'm looking forward to the monthly challenges now.

Jean this is a really nice LO, i just love the photos you have used, they are great, and i love how you have cropped them. And that magnolia is just beautiful, you are very clever.
The button on the photos is just perfect too.
you asked for cc, and there isnt anything i would change except i find the dots on the brown background paper, a little distracting. I wonder about a paper the colour of the magnolia flower, pale purple, texturised? sort of colour perhaps, to tie in with the striped paper you have used??
it is not a criticism, just a thought, and of course you do what you like.
i really like what you have done, what you have made and how you have arranged this whole LO.

Thank you all for such kind comments. I am going to miss this weekly challenge so much. I have learned so much doing it and you guys are just such a fun group of ladies. But not to be sad because the monthly challenge is going to be just as much fun!!! EVeryone's layouts are awesome! Keep them coming. We have another week before the new monthly challenge is posted.

Hi,
Here is my Final Exam
I have done: I Heart You, Stripes and Circles, Flowers and Butterflies, The '70's and sort of My First House, as yet I don't have a proper photo of this house...my Mum does, but it will be awhile before I can get it scanned into my computer...I'll keep that for another layout in the future :) TFL!

Sue, thank you so much for your comments! I was very interested in your suggestions about the background. What I posted wasn't the way it started and now I've looked at it with quite a variety of changes. Some of them, especially with lighter colors, make the photos stand out more. In the end, I find I like it best with a warm color, but beyond that it seems each has its own appeal. I can't decide what is best, but eventually will probably pick something other than what is in the gallery. I really appreciate the push to look some more.
I really like all the LOs you all have posted too.
Thanks!
Jean
