That is a dilemma! what to do with our gorgeous altered art pieces! We should all give that some thought this year, and try and get more real life about all this! We have gotten to be serious altered artists, but only in digital reality! How about ideas for how to incorporate our art into our lives!?

I think we should discuss it!

If anybody gets an idea about this subject, or actually does something they'd like to share, post it here! I'd sure love to see some fresh ideas, and I think the others here, would as well!

First of all, thanks for the compliments and thank YOU for hosting this challenge and encouraging us to stretch. Its funny that you should bring up this question now, because I was just thinking the same thing. Some of the things I've created I like enough to hang and I was trying to think of just how I wanted to do that. I have one piece I was thinking of blowing up to poster size and framing for over my fireplace. Does anyone know of a good place to have this done?

Another thing I thought of was framing various pieces and creating a wall grouping. I'd love to hear what other people are doing with their art. I agree, we shouldn't just keep it on our computers. What a waste!

Posters - if you wanted a photo print out, Costco prints posters. They are 20x30" or 16 x 20" for $9.99. There are puzzles, photo cubes, mugs, etc. at various sites. The one I wanted to try was printing on a pillow. :)

I think it's time we started a digital revolution at Somerset. We have clearly made our entrance in Legacy Magazine but Somerset Studio is an untapped digital market. In their guidelines, they clearly state that you may not submit digitally (Legacy allows digital submissions). But they do accept professional-quality 4"x5" transparencies or color slides. So I think we could just print up our submissions. Actually, now that I think about it ... they state that they prefer original art so perhaps we should send in CD's with our art on it as that is the ORIGINAL! LOL!

I periodically receive emails from Somerset Studio about the calls they have going on and this got me to thinking that we should all do it. Perhaps they would make a digital section at some point like Legacy does.

When I see the last submission of DeeDee I really think that when you send it in, they didn't see it, ;) Just kiddin', however it seems so real. It's not fair to keep Digital Art out, but how to change it. I have still a few problems, some accepted only submissions of the US and Canada :( . For now I have bought this weekend ten new black frames and been making a collage wall in my sleeping room. It's really great I also want to make more space in the entrance. In the Netherlands you always passed the entranche to get into the house or living room, to go to the toilet or to go upstairs. So I can see it whole day long and everybody who came to visit me can see it too. Even the postman when he delivered a package.

I also want to offer the 'family art' on our family-site for familymembers for free. So that everybody of my family who want to joy them can get it.

But it stays that way only in my own house or for a selective group of people. I really don't know what to do more at this moment.

Like many of you, I'm sure, I take some of my digi-art and add it to various projects I've got going that aren't necessarily digital by nature. For example, I'll print out digital elements or photos and add them to collage projects, altered art items, photo albums, etc.

Here's an example of digitally manipulated photos and phrases that I printed and added to a brown paper bag book project (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30989&cat=500&ppuser=5099) I did a while back.

I participate on collaborative projects with a group of "artistamp" enthusiasts. Many of the artistamps I submit to the projects I create digitally, print them out and add them to the various projects whether it be a book, an ATC, or other project it's always fun to make one, reproduce a dozen, and then create, create, create!

I also add my digi-art to handmade greeting cards, paper scrapbook memory albums, and especially my creative art journals and altered books.

That brown bag album is sweet, paintchip. I'd love to see some of your altered jounals, too!

Let's keep this thread active and see how many more ideas we can come up with...

You already all know some of mine from past Muse Newsletters...I love incorporating some of my digi art into my jewelry making hobby...and I've printed out pieces for decoupage on small pieces of furniture, too. Also, bookmarks, decorative bath sundries bottles, stationary, covers of chip board journals, altered altoid boxes...

All these have been posted in my gallery here at SA, if you'd like a link to something particular, let me know...

Now, how about some other stuff? :)
