Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I thought a little bit of catching up and reflecting on the season might be fun this week :) So, tell us all about your favorite part of the holidays this year - whether it was a gift, a meal or a special moment with loved ones, tell us what you liked best!

For me, far and away, the best part of the holidays for me this year was finally getting to meet my two little nieces! They were both born this last year, but I wasn't able to travel to Michigan until Christmas this year, so although I've seen lots of photos, I hadn't met them in person! What a couple of cuties they are! And, I still can't believe that two of my "little" brothers are now dads!

The best part for me was the fact that my brother and his fiance came to visit the week before Christmas. My brother and I are 6 years apart and not very close, never really have been but I think we really bonded while he was here. And his fiance is great. It was a really good time for everyone and I cant wait to see them again.

I love everything about Christmas, my absolute favorite time of year!
Best moment of the holidays? Maybe holding my 3-month-old granddaughter during her Mom's performance of Nutcracker, and seeing her react to the lights and react to the orchestra. She was adorable....of course she always is.

Among all the wonderful little goodies the holiday brings my way, my favorite this year was "down time" spent with my family. It was just so nice to chill out and relax with no agenda over the holiday weekends! We had a bit of snowfall too and it included spurts where the flakes were the big and flaky kind. So relaxing to watch the snow when it falls like that. We enjoyed phone conversations with all the kids, grandkids, and our parents too. Although we didn't get to enjoy company with them this year, it was so very nice to chatter with everyone!

we went at my sister in law's house for 3 days. She had a new baby in the fall and we had the time to bond with him. Always great to know a new member of our family!

My favorite part of the holiday was playing games together as a family. I love to play any kind of game and so does my son! He's so competitive! (Wonder where he gets that from!) So. . . maybe in the near future we can have a thread that polls everyone's favorite games! I'm always looking for some good ones!

For me theb most special moment was when Joey and Mitchell sat down by the Xmas tree and started to sing songs. They never did that or wanted to do it and there they were: singing! It was soooo sweet!
Another great moment was teh dinner we had on New Year's eve with my borther and his girlfriend. She lives in Roemania so we don't see her often. She came back for the holidays so that was really nice :)

I just love spending time together as a family. And the fact that my kids still believe in Santa is so cool. They do the whole cookie/milk/note thing, and then there are the presents the next day. I don't think it will last til next year, though...
