Happy New Year to you all! I wish you all happiness and health in 2007. The new year is a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. One of my goals this year is to unclutter and streamline. I need to unclutter a lot of things in my life: my house, my responsibilities, my hard drive!! LOL!

So, this week's challenge is very uncharacteristic of me. It was a real challenge. We are going with the "less is more" mentality. Eat your heart out Cathy Zielske (http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/shop/item.ihtml?idx=285)! This is happyrobyn's even simpler approach to clean and simple.

I'm going to give you a formula and all you have to do is follow it.

Formula: 1 background paper, 2 elements, 3 photos

The Rules: Photos should be from the 1970's and before. If you would like to use the elements more than once, that is ok. (Example: I used 2 staples but that only counts as one element.) Just make sure there are no more than 2 unique elements.

That's it! Now go scrap! Here's my example: Family 1972 (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30265&cat=500&ppuser=1707)

Thanks Cindy! This was hard for me. I'm so used to putting LOTS of stuff on a page.

Wonderful page Robyn, mmmm, about the lots of stuff, an alpha does it count as an element?

Yes. You can count is as an element if you would like.

Where are the times with challenges with 16 elements and all of a different designer. And above all a stable was count as one element  , Just kiddin'. Robyn put your sun-glasses on, here is my less is more (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30286&cat=585). Thanks for the great challenge, but I think I'll be back this week with another one a 'little more' less is more than this one.

okay, here is mine - as I said, this was NOT easy! lol
Robyn, 3 elements and 2 photos would have been WAY easier - but it WAS fun, so THANK you for the very challenging challenge!

I agree Cindy. I almost went with 2 photos and then I figured 3 photos and only 2 elements would be such a bigger challenge. And I love that the simplicity of these layouts seems to be making you journal more!! Cool!!!

whoa...so hard to stay simple, lol...I loved your layout out so much Robyn...I wanted to scraplift it, but I thought I'd better make my own...I cheated a bit tho...I overlayed one paper over another and used 6 button alphas...so technically, it ain't 1 or 2, but I managed to do 3, lol...here it is....New Zealand 1977 (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30475&nocache=1)

Here is my second page for Less is More, I think it couldn't be 'more' less. At first I want to think a little out side the box, because I have a gorgeous photo on a tenniscourt. I thought when I cut it in three parts, but that was also a little cheating ;) so I'll be brave and used three photo's.

Here is my Class of 1948 (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30478&cat=585)

Thanks for hosting Robyn. I'm looking forward to next week.

I'm so proud of myself for actually completing a challenge again - maybe they all should be simple for me.

I chose word art as one of my elements (hope that's okay). and I didn't count the bendit frames (okay I'm probably pushing it now). Bet the pictures didn't have complete borders so I needed to at least use a stroke or something !LOL!

Here it is: 1943 Good Dog Bone (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30755&cat=585)

Biggest slacker on the planet checking in! LOL! I love what I see in the heritage gallery this week. I will take the time to comment on each layout this afternoon. I am really impressed with everyone's layout. Thank you so much for your participation.

We are in the process of building a house and clearing out our present house so my presence on the boards has been quite reduced but I do glance over the gallery every day.

I will have a new challenge posted when I get home from work.
