I am SO stuck. I have done this before, no problems, but now...? My brain is numb.

Trying to make rounded squares, rectangls, and I use my tool, 75 px, fill black, and make a new layer. Put the rectangle down, but can't select it with the magic wand! Help! I made sure I was on the right layer, but it says it can't select a fill layer. I'm sure I'm just missing a setting somewhere. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Becca

Ah, when something is good, it is good. Clipping masks are fairly simple, once you have the hang of it. Apparently, the problem was that I was working with a locked layer (arg) and couldn't move the mask layer beneath it. A little alt+click on the line in the layer palette (after transferring the original paper to a new window and dropping the mask below the paper layer), and voila - ready to merge down and use. 3 steps and oh, so simple. Thanks for the advice!
