OK, I'm admitting this right up front that this tip is probably geared more towards designers. But I decided to use it this week because of the new Designer Apprentice contest that was just announced here At Scrap Artist! :) (So exciting!) If you need more information on that you can click here (http://www.scrapartist.com/scrapforums/showthread.php?t=2607). But in the meantime, here's the tip (for all you budding and current designers), and maybe some layout artists will even find a use for this from time to time as well!
OK, if you turn off the layers you don't want merged (turn off the layer visibility), then hold down the CTRL-ALT-SHIFT buttons and tap the " E " key, this will Merge Visible - but to a new layer, leaving the originals intact.
I love this tip. I use it a lot when designing. I think it's a nice little timesaver! :) Instead of duplicating layers, etc. just use this and it makes that go much faster! :)
Have a great week everyone! :)
