One of the advantages of digital scrapbooking is that you can resize your pictures to any size you would like to practically instantly... no more trips to the photo processor to get the "right" size of print!
But, when you go to resize those images, it's important to keep them in their proper proportions... if not, you end up with funky "stretched out" or "scrunched in" pictures. So, here's the solution... in PSE or PS if you are using your move tool to go to the edge, get a diagonal arrow cursor to click and resize your picture, hold down the SHIFT key while doing this and that will keep your image in proper proportion.

This is a very important tip! Not just for photos either. :D You want to resize your elements or papers - use the shift key. Thanks, Angela.

If you want to resize without doing it visually (and often visually is the way you want to do it), Ctrl-T brings up the transformtion option box. There you can state the exact size you want your new element to be (either by stating so in inches or doing it relatively by saying you want it to be 110% bigger). As long as you click the little icon between the width and height options, it will resize in proportion. Sometimes I bring this up and check out two, three or four different sizes when I am just not sure and I am hemming or hawing on the visual. Or, if I know I want two or three matching elements to be resized in proportion such as a ribbon and a slide for the ribbon. If I resize one by x amount, I just resize the other one, too.

That is another AWESOME tip! I think, but don't quote me, if you link the layers together and do the resizing, they will all resize together. Once you have them all in proportion together, just unlink them.
