I downloaded the venetian textures made by Nancie here at Scrapartist. I love them!!!! But, can not for the life of me figure out how to use them. I am a beginner, so this might be a very easy question. But, it has me stumped!!!
Thanks for your time!!

Fill a layer with color and then drag the texture layer in over - then you will see the difference! You can change the blend mode in the layer palette to for example overlay or soft light, and it will change how it looks too! And you can change the opacity depending on how strong you want the texture also in the layers palette!
This is in Photoshop..
It is so fun to play with, try using them on pictures too!

Thank you lindse.. that is exactly how I use them!!!! Sometimes I do a pattern overlay, an overlay (like you mentioned above) or a extract a portion of the photo and burn it into the other layers (using layer blend movdes) and mostly I do a combo of all of these... kind of schizo layer blending until I get a look that I like !! LOL!
I would love to do a tutorial on these... please be patient with me while I get one up? What program are you using? I am only on Pshop so I may have to get some backup here with other programs!
HUGS!!!!
