Who is ready for a FUN challenge??!! This week, I have combined the Heritage Challenge with the Altered/Collage Challenge (http://www.scrapartist.com/scrapforums/showthread.php?t=2240) so if you complete this ... you have actually completed both!
Your task this week is to create a heritage layout (with pictures from the 1970's or before) with elements and/or papers from at least 3 different designers. The goal is to create a collage-type layout. So take a rivet from here ... some paper from there ... and some bling from way over there! Combine it all for one fun layout!
I stayed up WAY too late last night and slept in this morning (Bad Robyn!) ... so I will have to post my example when I get home from work as my layout is not on this computer.
Take a look through the Altered/Collage Gallery (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=602) for inspiration. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Collage is one of my very favorite art forms!

Since I chose to work on smaller ATC sized canvases, I went ahead and did both challenges.
So here is my heritage challenge sample:

I'm neither very good with heritage, nor with collage. And so far I haven't mixed and matched often either. So this was a real challenge for me.

Hi there -
Here is my collage - "wry grin" You do NOT want to know how long this took or how many ideas I attempted - then discarded! And I don't want to talk about the dang postcards... maybe I should learn to scan things STRAIGHT? (I learned a new technique... lol.. how to straighten crooked photo's! LOL)

I tried a different approach for the heritage challenge, doing a lot of experimentation with layers and layer effects. Here it is: http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=17272&nocache=1

Okay, I did a collage, but I'm not gonna say I'm happy about. Robyn bullied me into it (lie, lie, lie)...she said if I didnt' she would write bad things about me on her blog (lie, lie, lie), she said she'd tie me to a llama and make me eat jalapeno peppers even (more lies)...so here is my collage/heritage/altered/whatever-the-heck-you-people-who-put-so-much-stuff-on-your-pages call it! LOL

It really was fun, but tedious. And I accidentally closed it without saving at one point! Can you imagine! I thought I was closing Ronna's alpha set....WHOOPS! Lost about half of what I'd done up to that point. So frustrating! But hey, I took it in stride and was REALLY grateful that I'd had the foresight to start writing elements down at the beginning of my scrap session. I knew I'd end up with a ton of layers, so that was the only thing that saved me today.

Well, good...at least now you're only calling yourself fat. In another forum she called ME fat! At least I think that's what obtuse means.

Obtuse is Christine's word ... better go look that up, too!
Lacking quickness of perception or intellect.
Characterized by a lack of intelligence or sensitivity: an obtuse remark
Oh ... that's me all right!

Me, too. I think we threw sensitivity out a long time ago!

Robyn,
I had a great time putting this layout together. I was wondering how I would be able to do a layout of my husband's uncle in his WWII uniform. Thank you so much for the "War" Kit - I love it and can't wait to use it in other layouts.
