Would someone please call me every Monday to remind me it's Monday! LOL! Once again - I am late posting the Heritage Challenge. But it is still Monday in Texas! Summer is a real challenge for me but I just can't give up on the Heritage Challenge because you all know I love it so much! Perhaps I will just call this the Monday EVENING Heritage Challenge.

Anyway, enough of my excuses! Here's the challenge. This week, we are going to cut out the shape of a State (or Province, Country, etc.) with paper and use it on a heritage layout. The easiest thing to do is find an outline map by doing a Google image search. Then use that image as a template to cut out the paper. I will post my example in a minute so you can see what I'm talking about.

It would be awesome if you also included some journaling telling why the State (Country, Province) is important to the picture(s) on the page.

Have fun and remember - pictures should be from the 1970's and before.

LOL, Claude is my father's name! Maybe I'm supposed to take that as a sign that I need to do this challenge . . .;)

I love this idea and will be playing. Is there a way to get journaling in the shape of a state? I just got Photoshop 7 and am still on the bottom end of the learning curve.

It seems a great challenge and I'll definitely participate. But instead of a state may be I will have to focus on my whole country because I am living in a small island. I hope it will be ok....... I'll submit my layout tonight..

Wendy - in Photoshop 7, there is no text on a path function unfortunately. That function did not come out until Photoshop CS.

Buddhini - The whole country is just perfect! I can't wait to see your layout!

Thanks Robyn... well text on a path is reason enough to start begging for CS for my birthday.

Oh yes - it is a great reason! One of my favorite features! But don't stop at CS because CS2 has the best feature of all ... WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) font previews! It's awesome!

I totally am going to do this.... but unfortunately it won't be this week. I have really been wanting to do a layout about the city I grew up in...Sugar City, Idaho. So I have to dig up some heritage pictures and the history of our cute lil city. I'll post when I get this done. Great layout Buddhini - I love it!!! Robyn - the Texas layout was super.

A bit of history about our honey business. And just in case anyone is interested we are attending a fancy foods trade show in NYC July 9th -- 11th.
NYC is a long way from this isolated remote part of New Zealand that our bees gather this honey from.

Here is it -- the layout that is
