I am wondering if there is some other way that one can do a torn edge look.

To date all I have done is scan something with a torn edge and then converted parts of it into a mask (using PSP) and then overlayed it on another paper. But it is a bit messy to do and doesn't always work as well as I would like it. Sometimes it can look more fluffy than torn.

I use PSP and CorePhotopaint and don't have Photoshop.

Michelle had a great tutorial up about this very thing! I know it's for Photoshop, but I know a lot of times things can be done in PSP with a few tweaks! I hope this link helps: http://www.scrapartist.com/scrapforums/showthread.php?t=730

I did go on a wee bit of a search for some tutorials after I posted this and found one for PSP8 at another scrapbooking site.
