Do any of you scan doodles rather than using the Wacom? I'm having a hard time cleaning scanned ones up...help?

Jenn..all mine that are up as freebies are hand drawn and scanned. After many frustrating trys at getting them cleaned up what I found worked best was. First I drew the lightly on the paper with a pencil. Then I used a black fine tipped marker to go over the pencil, don't press hard because that will make the marker bleed more, then you'll have more to clean up. I let that dry really well then erased any of the pencil you could see. Then once I scanned it any clean up that's left is a matter of zooming in close and using a mouse for extra clean up. Something to keep in mind, alot of the strays you see might not show up as much once you get it on patter paper/photo.

Use a med to fine point Sharpie. Once you get your image scanned, play with the contrast. Make the contrast high...well just play with both sliders I can't remember which way I went, but it makes extraction and clean up easier. :)

I am not a doodler, however, I scan in old handwriting and signatures quite often (it was my heritage challenge last week). When I first started doing this, I spent countless hours cleaning up the stray mess. Then I discovered if I made the scanned image nice and contrasty so the background was white and the ink nearly black, I could just make a stamp of it and then stamp on the writing wherever I wanted with no stray mess at all. I will never go back to cleaning it up. And I imagine you can do the exact same thing with doodles. And the benefit being that you can stamp in any color you wish.
