So apparently the technical challenges are not as much fun ... or you were all just busy last week. Maybe this week I'll scrounge up a prize for those of you that play. There I go talking before I figure things out so I'll just send some emails to the powers that be and see what sort of freebie I can come up with. I just want to reward you guys every once in a while for the great effort you put forward each week.
So on with the challenge ... This week it isn't technical at all. We are simply using buttons on a heritage layout. Photos should be from the 1970's and before. My example will be up shortly. You may need to search through your kits but many come with buttons in them.

I went on button overload on this one! You don't need to use so many ... just one is enough to qualify for this challenge. Here's my link: remember (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8916&limit=last7)

I love old buttons. Wish I had some in my personal collection. Your sample layout is too cool!

Buttons scan really well and they are easy to extract since they are a circle.

I have some examples already done...I want to scraplift you this week though, and fully intend to!! lol! Of course you've seen all these, but just in case anyone else would like to see some more examples of ways to use buttons, here are six...

I have lots of buttons and love to use them. This is a layout from an album that I did about my Grandmother. Since I already had it done will post it now and maybe more later in the week.

As I mentioned in the original post, I will be giving out a freebie for the participants of this challenge. I have decided to make a kit myself and I will divide it up and give it out over the next several weeks. This week, I will be giving out the stamped alpha. It comes in .png and .abr format. Preview the alpha HERE (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=9004&cat=585). If you would like to see the full kit, CLICK HERE (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=9020&limit=last7).
I am really enjoying all of the buttons I am seeing in the gallery this week!

Buttons (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=9025&cat=500&ppuser=2062) make nice photo holders, did you know that?

So apparently the technical challenges are not as much fun ... or you were all just busy last week.
You gotta cut it out with this guilt stuff, I can't take it anymore! First we have SadRobyn, now we have SemiDisappointedbutI'llGetOverIt Robyn. I played, kiddo, just can't post here because my photos are all here and now (although the castle was old! does that count?) I told you I will steal a grandmother if I have to so I can actually qualify for this layout. Okay, okay, it's true, I can actually do photos of me that will qualify for this challenge but I don't want to go there, okay?
Of course, now that you are actually becoming WantSomeCandyLittleGirlRobyn and are bribing us with a kit I will have to move up the Grand Theft Grandma heist a little closer to the top of the agenda.

I was seduced by the war kit... Redid an old layout. Had a neat serendipitous moment when I was trying to decide whether to use cream or brown for a floral brush stamp. Kept switching back and forth, then nudged one a little to compare and, whoa, it kind of looked like lace! Will definitely remember this one the next time I want to add a drop shadow to lace. I usually end up converting the layer effect to its own layer and then trying to erase to keep the lace nice and clean. But I think if you laid down the lace again, desaturated or coloured one of the layers and used align to match them perfectly then slightly nudged the black layer it would be a good drop shadow. Not perfect for those that like the handdrawn approach but a quantum leap ahead of the drop shadow layer effect. I am talking too much, aren't I?

Wow some of you have gone wild with buttons:)
Here is mine and I have also used the technique we learnt last week to scan the info from the back of the photo - I am doing a family Heritage Album and as my mother wrote on the back of every photo I can't tell you how glad I am that I learnt how to do this:D

Yes - it's always hard when I say my name and heritage in the same sentence. I have almost accepted it now because I have done it so much. But in the beginning I almost changed my own rules for what qualified as heritage because I didn't want to believe I was heritage! Thanks so much for playing Nevache. I always love your work and this one is exceptional!

Don't forget ... if you post your 'Button It Up' Heritage layout by tomorrow night at midnight, you will receive the War Alpha Brushes (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=9004&cat=500&ppuser=1707) freebie. I have created a whole War kit (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=9020&cat=500&ppuser=1707) and for the next 3 weeks, I will be giving away pieces to the Heritage Challenge participants as a thank you for playing.

I just sent out a link to the War Alpha Brushes to everyone who participated in the button challenge so far. If you did not receive it, just let me know and I'll send it right away. For those of you who have not yet posted ... you still have one more day. Then starting tomorrow at midnight, there will be a new heritage challenge and participants in that will receive the second of 4 parts to the complete War kit.

Felt like I was speed scrapping but was driven by the greed factor (ie getting part of Robyn's goodies).
I was really inspired by Nevache's LO for this challenge...

Where can I get me some heritage pic's! Any tips anyone!

Hi Kylie! I have an abundance. Tell me what you want - men, women, children, pets, cars ... you name it and I'll email it to you! Just write me at Robyn@ScrapArtist.com and that way I'll have your email address to send it to.

Also - just so you know - I count heritage as anything in the 1970's and before. So if you are a child of the 70's like me - you can use your own childhood photos.

I did it! Not 100% happy with it though, so any cc is really appreciated!
