I need designers help.
I've only been using photoshop for a couple of months and would like to build a custom kit for my daughters. I'd like to make a High School Kit out of our school's colors. As my daughters are both golfers, plaid and argyle paper is critical and I can't for the life of me figure out how it's made.
Also, I'd like to make dangly charms of a school mascot, logo, etc. How do you add/attach the little O to the top to turn the item into charms?

I don't know too much about argyle, and I'm sure there's others here who can offer some good advice on both, but I will tell you there's a little program that will make great plaids in Photoshop for you - it's called Plaid Lite - you should find it if you google. I think it costs like $15, but you get a free trial, so you can make a few things and see how you like it.

The argyle tutorial is awesome. As soon as I come up with something I like, I'll link back here for ya'll to see.
I think I'm going to hold off on Plaid Lite until I understand the concepts of Photoshop a little better. I find myself relying on shortcuts (actions/plugins) instead of learning the basic concepts myself. I dont' mind *cheating* once I understand what and why I'm doing something. (that might take awhile ... )

Create the jump ring using custom shapes - look in the drop down box for a ring. Create that shape the size that you want. Place it on the layer behind your mascot graphic and move it around until it is in just the right place for a jump ring. Then it would make sense to apply a layer style to it - there should be a style standard in ps that looks metallic. You will probably want to apply a similar bevel style to your graphic so that it has the same amount of 3dness as it were. Post here if you want more specific instructions and I'll try to help.
