I recently went through a paper scrapping mag and they went on about this rhinestone/gem elements which looks really cool on LO's and I was wondering if anybody has any idea how to create them? And also if they will be willing to share?

oh..I saw that article also. I don't have an answer for you on that, maybe one of our more experienced element maker might have an idea for you. But in the mean time I'll be looking to see if I can find some kind of tutorial for you.

Hi Chris, I am a photoshop user myself but have been looking online for you for some possible "pre-made" filters that you can use in your program. I haven't found one specific to Gems yet but I did find this. It is "tubes" which I believe are premade elements that you can install in your program (and probably manipulate them a bit as well). Here is the link if you don't already have it...

Corel Paint Shop Picture Tubes for 8/9 (http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Section/Display&sid=1047024315119&gid=1047024331972&cid=1047024332033)

Best of luck, I will keep looking for "Gems" for you.

Thanks for the tubes I found a few good tutorials at www.psplinks.com for nice shiny buttons but I am sure we will find something somewhere! I love the way you can create REAL stuff with this program, I think that is where the challenge is! Thanks again for the help!

I have a couple of resources for you. One is a site that sells gorgeous brushes that fit this category. Photoshop Graphics By Sage (http://http://www.photoshop.brushes.btinternet.co.uk/Photoshopbrushes.html). The other is a site for links to free layer styles for photoshop which should help. Web Soup (http://http://www.websoup.org/resources/links.php?cat=80). Last time I had a gem in a kit, it was extracted from a photo lol, not hand made. I will probably play with this some in the next little while and will let you know what I figure out. If I come up with something good, I'll make a tut for it!
