The challenge this week is to scrap heritage pictures of children (NO adults allowed!). Pictures should be from the 1970's and before. Scrap in any style you wish. Just make sure your pictures are of children only. Crop out any adults and journal whatever you know about the children. For extra credit, you can colorize a black and white picture (this is the Altered Challenge this week).

Here's my example: A Colorful Memory (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=6760&limit=last7)

Ok, I'm done! I had a hard time recoloring. I ended up using the color replacement tool in PSCS2. I would like to know how everyone else does it! I had fun making this for the challenge.

Here it is:

You guys are FAST! Thanks for posting these. You both did an excellent job with the picture, the layout and the colorization.

Faith - there really is no secret for colorizing. just whatever works for you. I loke to paint and then use Photoshop blend modes to make it look right. I have only colorized a whopping 3 photos so far and I am far from an expert in that area! LOL!

Hopefully, I can do this one. My scrapping time has been really limited due to work. I actually have one of the past challenges started, but it is a picture of my mom that is really special, and I can't seem to decide on elements, design, etc.

I haven't seen many layouts for this challenge yet! I hope to see the gallery fill up later in the week with lots of children of the past! Here's another example I just uploaded: Take Good Care Of Me (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=6903&limit=last7)

This doesn't meet the full criteria, but it definitely INSPIRED me. It's not heritage and there is only a quote. Hope you like.

Here's my layout. I combined the last couple of weeks challenges; I colorized and cut out my husband from photos that were a real mess. My favorite thing is that I was able to get her handwriting off the back of one of the photos, clean off the stuck on paper, and use it for the tag. He couldn't believe it when he saw this page. Now he's after me to do more, more, more!

Wendy - it's so beautiful! I'm going to give you one time-saving tip. I often scan signatures and handwriting. I used to try to cut it out to use it on pages but have discovered that if I make it into a stamp, I can just stamp it on any paper I want and it looks great. I am so happy that your DH liked this! You should be proud!

Robyn,
Thanks for the stamp tip. I never thought of that. Fridays are my play days, I'll have to figure out how to make stamps!

Thanks!

Are you using Photoshop CS? If so, it's simple. Just select the part that you want to be the stamp (just use your Rectangular Marquee tool for a quick selection. Then press Edit > Define Brush Preset. Then name it and then it will appear in your brushes.

Took me a while what with school going back and it being a little out of my usual LO style but here it is --- oops and sorry it does have an adult in it but he is not the focus and has his back and face hidden anyway so I figured that was ok.

Check it out HERE (http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=7065&limit=recent)
