Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! :)
Todays tip is about the burn tool. The burn tool can be found in the same "sqaure" on your menu as the dodge tool and the sponge tool.
I like to use the burn tool to "set things apart somewhat" (for lack of better terms). For instance, you know how adding a slight drop shaddow will put some distinction between two elements, well I like to use the burn tool in a similar way. I take the burn tool and apply it lightly to the edges of the paper or element. Here is an example:

In this layout, the red mat on the photo is made of the same paper as the background. So I took my burn tool to the edges of it to darken it and set it off from the background some. An effect similar to an inked edge, but a little different twist.
