I’m going to teach you a little photo shop brush trick.

We all know how to use  brushes, but there is a little trick to make it easier and even more fun!

If you go to windows then select brushes your tool should pop up in your PS screen like this

If you click on brush tip shape at the top left corner a new view will pop up. There will be a circle with an arrow in it. Using this you can change the direction your brush goes in. This is great to use in changing up your brush work, but even better to use with long, edge type brushes. If your brush was made vertically, you can also use it horizontally with this tool.

You can see the original direction of this brush in the image above. With this little trick I can make it go in a different direction, making a frame.

To do this you need to grab the circle with the arrows in it and drag it down 90 degrees.

Doing this over and over 90 degrees at a time I’ve made a frame using the same brush

Now if I turn the brush 45 degrees I can put the line at an angle and make an x in the middle like this
