Tips & Tricks

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day everyone!  I know everyone is busy scouting out sales, so I have a quick tip, but oh so useful!   I am going to show you how to easily space the text in your fonts to fill a journaling prompt.

ETA:  I am using Photoshop CS2

When I first started digital scrapbooking I kept finding templates that had lines in them meant for journaling, but they were spaced further apart than the lines of my text, so I kept doing each line individually and that takes a lot of time!  When I discovered this trick, I was so happy!   I’ll be using a journaling sheet created by Angie Hinksman for one of the sessions of our first free weekend workshop this weekend:

I prefer to have my text, especially when I’m journaling, inside a text box so I can let the ends of the lines automatically wrap around instead of having to hit enter everytime I want a new line.  The problem is that as you can see above, my lines of text don’t line up with the lines of the journaling paper.  To fix this, while editting your text, click on the “ Toggle the Character and Paragraph palettes” icon:

On this form all you have to do is adjusting the “leading” until the lines of your journaling, line up with the lines of your journal box are you’re done!

I hope you enjoy this tip and the rest of you Digital Scrapbooking Day!
