Art Therapy Thursday: It’s Only a Paragraph!

ArtTherapy Thursday

Hi there, it’s Karen Johnson here with my very first ATT challenge for ScrapArtist.

But first congratulations to last week’s winner – Chengie!  Congratulations – I hope you have fun shopping in the store!
  Chengie

And now on to this week’s challenge…

Okay, it’s a journaling challenge but please don’t go away screaming – we can make this fun!

Think of an event you would like to record. To get some journaling done try answering these questions.

1. What is the event? A birthday, vacation, an average day in the house…
2. Who is with you?
3. Where are you? In the house, on vacation, at work, school…
4. What time of year is it?
5. What is the weather like? Unseasonally hot/cold?
6. What is your general feeling? Happy, sad…
7. Who said what? Can you remember any snippets of conversation?

The aim is to get a paragraph of jounaling. It doesn’t have to be full sentences – single words are fine too.

If you have photos of the occasion, that’s great as they can help jog your memory, but they should be used to compliment your journaling. That is, the journaling should take the main stage of your layout.

Even if you only come up with a small paragraph with a few words, remember, words a pictures/elements and white space can make a powerful layout.

If you don’t have any photos that’s okay too. Just go thro your stash and try to find some interesting elements to go with your page. For me that’s the fun part!

And of course, if you’re already competent at journaling just forget all the above and do your own thing.

Oh and how about a great alpha for the title?

So in brief your page should have -
1. Cool Alpha
2. Journal Block – the main focus of your layout
3. Photos/Elements to help tell the story

Remember to post your LOs using at least 75% SA products to the ATT challenge gallery, and post a link to your LOs in the ATT challenge thread !

And that’s it – does anyone wanna play?
